Update

Well, 8 songs complete on the next album. Taking a little time now to prepare for the Debbi Waterstone Wildlife Foundation fundrasier September 17th in San Jose CA.

Sponsors for our 2011 event include: San Jose School of the Blues, Poor House Bistro and Thomas Fogarty Winery. Performing: the John Garcia Band featuring Wally Schnalle on drums, Steve Smith on bass and of course John Garcia himself on guitar. If you like blues, I suggest you check John out. Also performing are special guests: Sammy Varela and JC Smith. Check out these monster blues players as well.

For more information on the foundation: DWWFoundation.org.

I also have assembled a band to play at this years foundation which includes my producer Terry Carleton on drums. We plan to play 4 of my songs (1 never recored, 2 in the can for the next album one from "On Down the Road") and two covers. One cover is the "sleepy" John Estes "floating brige". Greg Alman covers this nicely on his "low country blues" release. Great CD.

I'm looking forward to the event and getting back into the studio to finish up my project in time for the holidays.

Stay calm...
Guy

Making good progress

Hello to everyone. Making good progress on the next album. We have 6 songs complete and 2 more ready to go. I’m pushing hard to cut the album creation time down to one year, even that still seems like a long time. Not every hour of the day is in the studio and much work goes into just beginning the recording process.

I have been very fortunate to have two guest artist contribute to our efforts. Dale Ockerman, local in Santa Cruz (keyboards) and Dave Ristrum, TN (paddle steel and baritone guitar). As we continue on, I’m sure we will have more guest artists.

Looking forward to the summer.

All the best,
Guy

Back in the studio

Hello again.

Please to announce that I’m back in the studio to begin work on the next project. Starting a little slow, but should pick up once back into the groove. I have a list of new songs that I continue to work on and I believe to be promising. It is not clear at this point what and if there will be a specific theme to the album. This sometimes just presents itself one day. As I do progress, I'll write a short note upon completion of each new song along with a progress report.

Thanks for visiting.
Guy

Album #3: Released

2008 was a difficult year, as I lost someone very dear to me to cancer. We all know someone who has had to fight this battle and how difficult it is. Life has a finality about it that leaves us no option, but to move forward.

I have completed my latest project CD(3) and happy to announce that the CD is now available. The project took much longer than I anticipated, but such is life.

I would like to thank Terry Carleton for his contribution to the project as producer and guide.

Love to all, Guy
